DON WELCH

(June 3, 1932 - August 6, 2016)

The images below range from Don's birth in Hastings, Nebraska, to his childhood in Gothenburg, Columbus, and Kearney.  After teaching high school English in Fort Morgan, Colorado, and then at Gothenburg, Nebraska, Don received his PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  He taught at the University of Nebraska-Kearney (formerly Kearney Sate College) for over 50 years.  A bronze statue of him has stood outside his old office since 2001.
